Warm coastal South Carolina home at golden hour

Senior downsizing & relocation, coastal South Carolina

Leaving a home you have loved for decades is not a transaction. It is a transition.

I am Joyce. I help seniors and their families across Horry and Georgetown Counties move through this chapter with patience, real local resources, and a steady hand beside yours.

I have heard these words before

The things people tell me when we first sit down.

None of this is unusual. None of it disqualifies you from a calm next step.

I have lived here for so long, I do not even know where to start.

Most people don't. We start with one conversation, not a plan.

I do not want to burden my children.

Choosing to plan now is the opposite of being a burden. It is a gift to them.

There is just too much stuff to go through.

I have trusted people for that. You will not lift a box alone.

What if I regret selling?

We make sure the next place feels right before the current one goes anywhere.

I am afraid of losing my independence.

Downsizing well, on your timeline, is how independence gets protected.

I am not sure I am emotionally ready yet.

Then we don't list. We talk, and you decide what feels right.

Why this work is personal

I was born into a much older family. From a young age, I understood what aging asks of a household.

I helped my mother care for my chronically ill father until he passed in 2005. I later brought my uncle up from Florida and cared for him through his final years. My mother lived with me for the last fifteen years of her life. My sister moved in to help in 2016. Mama passed this August after a long battle with dementia.

I know what it feels like to sort through a parent's lifetime of belongings. I know how it feels to be the adult child carrying too much, and to be the parent who does not want to ask.

That is the experience I bring to every senior I work with. Not just a license. A life.

About Joyce

A Realtor who has also been the one packing the boxes.

I have been licensed for more than a decade, working with seniors and families across Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet, Pawleys Island, and the Grand Strand. What sets my work apart is not a slogan. It is that I have lived the caregiving side too.

When we work together, you gain an advocate, a coordinator, and a guide. I bring the trusted local network. You bring your timeline. We move at your pace.

Real families I have walked beside

Two stories that stay with me.

Murrells Inlet → Virginia

A couple, a stroke, and a daughter waiting up north.

They had moved down from Massachusetts in 2018 to enjoy the coast. When the husband had a stroke, everything changed. We coordinated the sale and the move to be near their daughter in Virginia, on a timeline that respected his recovery and her caregiving.

Myrtle Beach → North Carolina

Leaving the home she had shared with her husband.

After her husband passed, she stayed in their Myrtle Beach home. A terminal cancer diagnosis brought a different timeline. We sold the house gently and got her settled with her daughter in North Carolina, with the dignity she deserved.

Whenever you are ready

One quiet conversation. That is all this needs to be.

Bring whatever you are sitting with. Questions, fears, half-formed ideas, a deadline you cannot quite face. We will look at it together and you will leave with a plan, even if that plan is to wait.
